SGB WPC is a green buidling material, it's made of 60%-65% natural wood fiber( Professionally Dry treatment ) ,30%-35% of eco-friendly HDPE materials and 5% -10% Chemical additivel ( anti-UV agent, anti-oxidation agent, reinforcing agent, stabilizers, colorrants, anti-fungus agent, coupling agent etc..).

15-20years.
(3) What the weather temperature is suitable to use our WPC products ?
It's from -40°c to 60°c.
(4) Do WPC product need the good ventilation and drainage ?
Yes, like timber, it's important to provide adequate ventilation and drainage to ensure SGB WPC is able to dry out after being wet. For this reason, it's very important to pay attention to clearance on butt joins ( end to end), spacing between boards( side to side), and min. ground clearance. Lack of ventilation and drainage can cause the products to swell over time. Check product fix informations on the good ventilation and drainage requirements. Boxing in the deck will reduce cross flow ventilation and therefore should be avoided.

(6) Why is it only 30% Plastic?
Most WPC products on the market are 50% plastic. SGB WPC has been specially formulated for high UV conditions. The extra wood content is more suitable for our high UV which protects the plastic and prevents it breaking down. This formula is also less prone to expansion and contraction which can be a problem with a higher plastic content.
(7) Will it fade?
After the first summer the colour will have lightened up 10% and then will remain stable. Being a recycled product a slight colour variation from batch to batch can be expected.
(8) Is it slippery?
SGB WPC has similar slip resistance to traditional wood decking (such as merbau decking). It can be coated with a specially formulated slip resistant coating if further slip resistance is required. This cannot be applied until after the boards have “weathered” approximately three months. Contact us for more details.
(9) Can SGB WPC be painted or stained?
Yes, SGB WPC composite decking can be painted or stained however it is not recommended or necessary. If painting or staining SGB WPC is still desired, it is only advisable to do so after the boards have reached their fully weathered state. After this process, periodic re-painting will be required, a minimum of once a year.
(10) Can it be used around a spa or swimming pool?
SGB WPC composite decking boards are ideal for use around spas and pools.
(11) Is it hot underfoot?
In hot weather conditions, SGB WPC plastic composite decking boards are a similar temperature to comparably coloured timber surface temperatures, such as merbu decking.
(12) Is it fire retardant?
SGB WPC decking material will burn like most timbers. It has been tested by SGS for ignitability, flame propagation etc and found to be of a performance somewhere between softwood and hardwood. SGB WPC is not suitable to be used in bush fire prone areas.
(13) What joist span is required?
Joist span requirement depends on the profile.
- 130mm Solid profile requires a maximum spacing of 450mm.
- 140mm Solid profile requires a maximum spacing of 600mm
